In Denton County, marriage records can be viewed online by visiting the County’s online marriage license index at https://denton.tx.publicsearch.us/. The site is free and easy to use, and all you need to do is select “Marriage” in the dropdown menu on the left of the search bar. Doing so will allow you to search marriage records arranged chronologically. Information included are the applicants, or the couple’s names, date of marriage, and certificate number.
In addition to online search options, Denton County also allows people to view certificates in-person or order certified copies, which cost $17.00 (prior to 4/2/2001) $18.00 (after 4/1/2001) along with credit card fees. You can visit the County Clerk’s office located at 1450 East McKinney Street Suite, Denton, TX 76209 during business hours between 8am and 4:30pm, or order them online through the county clerk page.
To request a Divorce Decree record, you must submit a written record request form found at https://www.dentoncounty.gov/DocumentCenter/View/486/Records-Request-Form-PDF. Submit it to the District Clerk’s office in-person at 1450 E McKinney Street, Denton, Texas, by mail to P.O. Box 2146, Denton, Texas 76202, by fax to 940-349-5754, or by email to dcrecords@dentoncounty.gov.
